I’m pleased to announce that Ms. Megan Sponseller has accepted the call to be our first Director of Children and Family Ministries. We are thrilled to welcome Megan into our leadership team. Megan comes to us with outstanding qualifications for the position. More importantly, Megan brings with her a vibrant faith in Jesus Christ and deep love for children.
Megan will be working 20 hours a week for the Bridge and will begin this Monday April 21st. Please pray for Megan as she launches her new ministry among us. Here’s a little bit more about Megan.
Megan was born and raised in Ohio in a small town east of Cleveland. She attended Cedarville University where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Bible. After marrying her husband in 2003, the couple took a leap of faith and relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina. Within a short amount of time, the Lord lead them to Northside Baptist Church where they have been active members. During the last night years, Megan has taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th grade at two local Christian schools. She has also been an active part in their pre-school departments and served as a director of their Summer Camp programs. In 2009, the Sponseller family was blessed with the birth of their son, Riley. Over the last few years Riley has opened their eyes to the world of Special Needs as he has displayed many developmental delays. Through the program His Strength, they have taken an active part in his development and look forward to integrating a UMS method in their home.
On accepting the call to serve at The Bridge Presbyterian Church, Megan said: It is with great pleasure that my family and I are accepting the calling to The Bridge. I am looking forward to joining your family and helping grow the Children and Family Ministry. The opportunity to impact Leland and the surround area is extremely exciting. We cannot wait until the launch.
