Dr. Doug Cushing is the Pastor at the bridge. Doug is the husband of Sharon. He started the Tyger River Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, SC and served as pastor there for 15 years before being called to start the bridge. He completed his Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary and his DMin at Columbia Theological Seminary.

Doug is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a huge Green Bay Packers fan – he even owns a share of their stock!


Interim Director of Music & Technology

Dave Bohn, our Worship Team Elder, has agreed to fill the staff position of the Interim Director of Music & Technology.  Dave is one of the founding musicians of the bridge Praise Band.  He comes to us with many years of experience as a professional musician performing as a solo guitarist and vocalist.  He has also performed in acoustical vocal groups and rock bands. He brings a wealth of knowledge in performing both traditional and contemporary Christian music.  Dave believes that music is a major ingredient in praising the Lord.


In the Presbyterian denomination, the Elders of the Session, are part of the leadership team. They are elected by the congregation and support the Pastor and Staff Members of the church.  Below is the current team at the bridge:

Provide daily devotional resources, coordinate prayer concerns & praise reports and organize church-wide opportunities for prayer such as prayer vigils

Create an annual budget, track financial giving at the bridge, oversee revenues & expenses and organize a yearly mission fair with spiritual gifts


Small Group Ministry Team:   Greer Broadwater, Elder (greerbroadwater@bellsouth.net)

Grow & Develop Sermon-Based Small Groups & Other Small Groups – such as affinity groups (hiking, cooking, golf, book club and children’s groups, etc.)

Oversee the hospitality center and the greeter team, oversee all food and drink before & after weekly worship,  help create, organize and develop side-door events (Barbeque Parties, Tailgate Sundays, Special Events, Meet & Greets, etc.)

Develop & maintain sustainable missional partnerships with such local agencies as Hope Harbor, Matthew’s Ministry, Brunswick Family Assistance, Kid’s Academy, Leland House, Street Reach, etc.,  and also national and international partnerships such as Equal Exchange Coffee Project and the Red Cross (blood drives)
